The Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. (EVAC) is a non-profit organization designated to respond to all requests for emergency medical assistance in the Town of Eastchester and the Villages of Tuckahoe and Bronxville since 1952. As the first Volunteer Ambulance Service in Westchester County, EVAC currently remains the largest in Westchester County with over 100 members. EVAC has met all standards of quality assurance, equipment and response standards as defined by New York State, which has earned us the distinct title of New York State Department of Health Certified Emergency Medical Service provider, which means that the Corps has met a strict set of quality assurance, equipment and response standards defined by the state. EVAC provides round-the-clock Advanced Life Support (ALS) service through the use of per-diem Paramedics who respond to every call along with professionally trained Emergency Medical Technicians.

Our involvement in the community includes offering different levels of CPR Courses, Free Blood Pressure Screenings, Career Day at local schools, visits to local Girl/Boy Scout Groups, stand-by’s at local sporting and recreational events, etc.

EVAC continuously recruits Volunteers and has joined Eastchester, Tuckahoe and Bronxville School Districts as well as Fordham and Iona Preparatory Schools in becoming a certified agency for WISE Programs (senior service projects) helping many young men and women get workforce experience before high school graduation. EVAC retains approximately 70% of its WISE Program Students as Volunteers.

If you are over the age of 17 and are interested in helping EVAC provide a valuable service to the community, please visit our website. Applicants without proper certification should call for training course information.

If you would like to donate to EVAC you may send your tax-deductible donation to our mailing address above.
