1. Are permits required for roofing or re-roofing?
Yes.

2. How far in advance should I call for an inspection?
Inspection requests should be made only upon completion of the work to be
inspected. Scheduling
is on a first come first serve basis. Inspections are made in the afternoon
between 2:00 and 4:00.

3. To whom do I make the check payable?
Checks for building permit and application fees should be made payable to
the Town of Eastchester.

4. How do I apply for a Certificate of Occupancy
for a building constructed prior to 1938?
If a building file does not contain a Certificate of Occupancy for a building
constructed before 1938, you may request that the building inspector prepare
a predate letter.

5. How do I finalize building permits?
Certificate of compliance is required for all building permits (except walls,
fences & driveways) issued after March 10, 1969.

6. General Notes
- Certificate of Occupancy is required for all buildings constructed on or
after December 28, 1938.
- The town does not maintain building files for properties located in the
Villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe. Files for these properties are located
in their respective village halls.
- All plumbing and electrical work in the Town of Eastchester must be performed
by Westchester County licensed contractors. Homeowners are not exempt
from this requirement.
