Ms. Uhle: States Mr. McIntyre will be arriving

8 shortly.

9 Ms. Brescia: States applications for 4046

Parkway Circle and DeCicco's Marketplace have

10 been adjourned and will be required to

re-notice.

Ms. Uhle: Explains public will be re-noticed

12 with regard to whichever Board those

applications will be before. States sign

13 applications will be heard at a meeting

scheduled for tomorrow night.

Ms. Raffiani: Makes a motion to approve the

15 minutes from the September 1st ARB meeting.

APPLICATION 05-58, 390 HUTCHINSON BOULEVARD

20 Mr. Bailey: Garfield Bailey, G & G Design

Engineers. Explains they are doing a kitchen

21 addition and family room addition to the

existing dwelling. Shows existing conditions.

22 Explains they created a country style kitchen

with a family room attached off the kitchen

23 which opens up to a living room. Shows

elevations. Explains they took the pitch of

24 the existing roof and put it on the new

addition to match the style and they're also

25 matching the existing finishes which is

aluminum siding. States windows will be the

same as existing. Indicates they are putting

2 in a French door slider. States they are

matching the existing shutters.

Ms. Raffiani: States shutters on the sides of

4 the house are a different color than the front.

Asks if they will match them.

7 hearing on Application 04-58.

that it goes forward to the Planning Board for

APPLICATION 05-63 MEDICAL ARTS BUILDING

21 Ms. Rivera: Rebecca Rivera, Joseph Crocco

Architects. Explains this is a medical arts

22 building located on the corner of White Plains

Road and Orchard Street. States they are

23 proposing to put an elevator by the rear corner

towards Orchard Street. States last week they

24 were in front of the Planning Board and were

referred to the ARB. Indicates they will be

25 using a tan brick. States they are proposing

to put the elevator on the back corner and

match the brick.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks how close the brick will

3 match.

4 Ms. Rivera: Explains they are going to match

it as close as possible.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks if they have a proposed

6 elevation of what the shaft will look like.

7 Ms. Rivera: Indicates it's a box out in the

rear corner.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks if it's going to project up

9 nine or ten feet.

10 Ms. Rivera: States yes.

11 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if the lighter brick is

less obvious than the red brick.

Ms. Rivera: States yes.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks what type of elevator this

14 is.

15 Ms. Rivera: States hydraulic.

16 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if there is anything else

that will be visible on the roof.

Ms. Rivera: States no.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks what type of roof it will

19 have.

20 Ms. Rivera: States a flat roof to match the

existing.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks if there are any doors.

Ms. Rivera: Indicates there will be a door to

23 access the machine room. Explains they will

set it off to the back so it's not noticeable.

Mr. McIntyre: States a concern about the

25 newness of the color of the brick in

relationship to the existing brick. Asks if

it's a semi-glazed brick.

Ms. Rivera: States yes.

Mr. McIntyre: Feels if they used the darker

4 color brick it may blend in better. Asks if

there is access to the elevator from the

5 outside.

6 Ms. Rivera: States yes.

7 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if this is an ADA

requirement or if it is for freight and

8 materials.

9 Ms. Rivera: Explains it's a medical office

building and this makes it handicap accessible.

Ms. Uhle: States Planning Board did a

11 preliminary review of the site plan. Explains

they required the applicant to stripe out the

12 access aisle that's currently a parking space

that leads into the elevator and to designate

13 the two adjacent parking spaces as handicapped

parking spaces and also to work with the

14 Highway Department to make sure the drop curb

is a smooth transition from Orchard Street into

15 that access aisle.

16 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if there is any work that

has to be done to the window openings on the

17 existing stairwell.

18 Ms. Rivera: Explains they get eliminated.

19 Mr. McIntyre: States if they could match the

color of the brick then he'll go with the

20 recommendation to use the lighter color brick.

21 Mr. Miller: Asks if they will be putting any

kind of signage on the wall to indicate that

22 the elevator entrance is around the corner.

23 Ms. Rivera: Shows area that will be striped.

24 Ms. Raffiani: Asks if there are two entrances,

one for walking in and one for going directly

25 into the elevator.

Ms. Rivera: Indicates there's the main

2 entrance from White Plains Road and then the

new handicapped accessible entrance from

3 Orchard on the corner.

4 Ms. Bonasia: Asks if it needs to be nine feet

above the roof.

Ms. Rivera: Explains there is a distance that

6 it needs to be for the over shaft.

7 Ms. Brescia: States a concern this is a very

high, massive brick section. Asks if there is

8 some decorative detail that could be added to

break up the mass.

Ms. Rivera: States they could do a brick

10 detail along the top around the entity that's

going up about nine foot seven inches.

Ms. Brescia: States a concern of matching the

12 color of the light brick. Suggests doing a

combination of the two bricks. Feels you might

13 not pick up it's that different if you do a

combination of the two.

Mr. Miller: Asks if there will be a time they

15 shut off the elevator entrance.

16 Ms. Rivera: States during the evening when the

building is closed.

Mr. McIntyre: Asks if a canopy is required

18 directly over the entrance to the elevator to

help protect whoever is getting on or off the

19 elevator in inclement weather.

20 Ms. Rivera: States they could consider it.

21 Mr. McIntyre: Discusses lighting. Asks that

they bring a sample of the brick to the

22 Planning Board to ensure they are matching it.

States his only other comments would be to

23 contemplate some sort of an awning or canopy

and some lighting over the elevator entrance.

Ms. Brescia: Asks when they go to the Planning

25 Board they come up with some decorative detail

with the brick, look at some kind of protective

canopy and show what lighting will be provided.

Application 05-63.

05-63 go to the Planning Board subject to the

11 recommendations discussed.

APPLICATION 05-65, 113 WHITE ROAD

16 Mr. Cotugno: John Cotugno, architect. States

they received a variance from the Zoning Board.

17 Explains the only change is they changed the

front to brick. Shows location of brick.

18 Shows location of trees that will remain.

States driveway will be on the right side and

19 will get wider as it goes toward the garage to

accommodate two cars. States house will have

20 shutters. States shutters will be black and

roof will be gray. Shows sample of brick.

21 States brick has a variation of color. Shows

sample of roof. Indicates what will be brick

22 and what will be hardy plank. States hardy

plank will be white with white trim. Shows

23 sample of hardy plank.

24 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if they are using wood

shutters.

Mr. Cotugno: States yes.

4 Ms. Raffiani: States survey shows a garage

that extends into the property and it says, to

5 be removed.

6 Mr. Cotugno: Explains it will be demolished.

7 Ms. Raffiani: Asks if that's the one at 111

White Road.

Ms. Uhle: States yes. Explains as part of the

9 approval from the Zoning Board the property

owner at 111, who previously owned 113, is

10 required before this person can get the

building permit to remove the garage and

11 breezeways to ensure that portion of the

property complies with zoning and to construct

12 a new driveway on 111.

13 Ms. Brescia: Makes a motion to open the public

hearing on Application 05-65.
