12 APPLICATION 06-29, A.S. FUSCO and ASSOCIATES

13

14 Mr. Moses: Manfred Moses, professional

engineer. Shows photo of building. States

15 application is a replacement of an existing

sign. States LaSorsa Construction, Inc. sign

16 will be replaced with a sign identical in size

and shape in order to match all the other signs

17 on that particular exposure. States dimension

of sign is twelve by two. Explains that is

18 slightly higher than the present sign law by a

few inches. Feels it's important for them to

19 match the existing sign so it does not disturb

the validity of that wall. States sign is a

20 white background with a one inch black border.

States sign is one inch thick made of aluminum

21 with white enamel paint finish. Explains

existing signs were installed prior to existing

22 sign law so it is a problem to change the sign

unless they change all the signs.

an issue.

25

Mr. Moses: Shows photographs of existing

2 signs.

3 Ms. Raffiani: States the logo on sign is

not allowed.

4

Mr. Moses: States they don't consider

5 that a logo. Explains it's part of the

letterhead that Mr. Fusco has on his

6 stationary. States it could be conceived as a

logo, but in the past the Board has granted

7 exceptions on various applications. States

this is only sixteen inches high by twenty-four

8 inches.

9 Ms. Raffiani: Feels it's large. States

it's about two fifths of the sign.

10

Mr. Miller: Explains Board has not given

11 leeway on the logo issue.

12 Ms. Brescia: Feels this drawing is a

real illustration. Feels they could leave

13 Professional Network Consultants there and the

colors but the drawing of the man and monitors

14 and oval should be removed.

15 Mr. Fusco: States he didn't realize

logos were not allowed on signs. Asks Board to

16 consider his logo as part of the exception.

Asks Board to consider the logo in its

17 entirety. Explains having just the

Professional Network Consultants is not how he

18 wants it to be presented.

19 Ms. Brescia: States Board has allowed in

the past just a simple geometric shape. Feels

20 this is too complex. States they could come

back with a simpler design and the Board will

21 look at it.

22 Ms. Raffiani: Explains Board is allowed

to deviate from the law. States in this case

23 they already have in the size of the sign.

Feels this does not fit in with the rest of the

24 signs that are there. Feels if they did A.S.

Fusco and Associates on the top line and

25 Professional Network Consultants on the bottom

line and kept it all in the same font it would

fit in more with the rest of the signs that are

2 there.

3 Mr. Moses: Asks if they eliminated the

people and left the Professional Network

4 Consultants on the left side with the colors

how the Board would feel about that.

5

Ms. Brescia: Feels that is reasonable.

6

Ms. Bonasia: Feels that is reasonable.

7 Feels the intent of a sign is to identify the

business. Feels there is too much going on on

8 the sign presented.

9 Mr. Fusco: Feels when you spend

thousands of dollars creating a logo, an

10 identity, that is something clients will

immediately identify.

11

Ms. Uhle: States if they're willing to

12 make the modifications Mr. Moses suggested and

the Board agreed to, they could bring that into

13 the building department, but if they want an

alternative for the logo they will have to come

14 back to the Board.

15 Mr. Fusco: States he would like to leave

that open for discussion.

16

17

APPLICATION 06-18, 46 WATER STREET

12 Ms. Raffiani: Asks if there are divided

lights in the windows.

13

Ms. Rivera: States the home owners

14 prefer not having the grills.

15 Ms. Brescia: Feels it would add to the

house.

16

Ms. Raffiani: Suggests having six over

17 six windows. Feels the rest of the house would

feel natural with that.

18

Ms. Brescia: Feels it looks much more

19 expansive without the divided lights. Feels

they need to break it up a little.

20

Mr. Miller: Asks width of windows on the

21 tower.

22 Ms. Rivera: States about three foot.

Asks if they could do two over one.

23

Ms. Brescia: States yes.

two over one.

7

Ms. Raffiani: States that would be fine.

8

Ms. Uhle: Asks if this is for all the

9 windows on all elevations.

10 Ms. Brescia: States yes. Explains over

the door they have to see what works best.

11

Mr. Miller: Feels they have done well
