3 Ms. Brescia: Calls meeting to order.
Ms. Uhle: States Mr. Miller and Mr.
10 McIntyre will be late.
APPLICATION 06-12, PIPER'S KILT
13 Sign Company: States Piper's Kilt wants
to replace the plywood on the sign with a tin
14 background the same color. States they are
asking to maintain the same dimensions of the
16 Ms. Brescia: Asks if there are any plans
Sign Company: States they could clean
18 that up. States they could put those in a cap.
19 Ms. Brescia: Asks if they are going to
Sign Company: States they will clean the
21 lights up. States the color will be the same
color as the door with the gold letters.
Mr. Miller: Asks if they plan on making
23 it the deep brown color.
Sign Company: States yes. States they
25 could make it any color the Board wants.

2 Ms. Brescia: Suggests they match the
Mr. Miller: Feels matching the awning
5 Ms. Raffiani: Asks that the backing not
Sign Company: States they could make it
8 Mr. Miller: Suggests adding a border
Sign Company: States they could put a
10 border on the edge similar to the one at
Mr. Miller: Feels a thin molding in gold
13 Sign Company: States they could add
something on the edges like the sign at
15 Ms. Uhle: Reviews recommendations:
Applicant will clean up the wires and put them
16 in caps; clean up the lights; background will
be a deep brown similar to the awning color;
17 keep gold letters; dimensions are permissible;
an option of the notches in the corner and the
18 gold trim if it's cost prohibitive; a matte
finish for the background.
Ms. Bonasia: Asks if the conduit could
20 be eliminated. Feels that would clean it up
Mr. Miller: Asks if they could put the
22 conduit behind the sign.
23 Sign Company: States he could do that.
24 Ms. Brescia: Makes a motion to approve
Application 06-12 as indicated and modified.
Mr. Miller: Seconds motion.

APPLICATION 06-14, WESTCHESTER PERIODONTICS
5 Mr. Reischenberg: Dave Reischenberg,
Sign-o-rama. States they want to replace the
6 signage. States one is to replace the lawn
sign and replace the building lettering.
Ms. Brescia: Asks if lettering will be
8 the same as what was there except with the new
Mr. Reischenberg: States yes. States
10 they are asking to change the color from blue
to forest green with gold lettering.
Ms. Brescia: Asks what WP is.
Mr. Reischenberg: States it is the logo.
Ms. Brescia: States the WP can stay but
14 she does not like the tooth and nail. Explains
technically they're not supposed to have drawn
16 Mr. Miller: States a concern the other
tenants in the building will want to add signs
18 Ms. Brescia: States she does not mind
the name on the building because this is a hard
20 Mr. Miller: States he is fine with the
Ms. Raffiani: Feels a plaque near the
22 entrance that matched the monument sign would
be more helpful. States technically you're not
23 supposed to have two signs.
24 Mr. Reischenberg: States there were
Ms. Uhle: States professional name

2 plates are permitted as of right.
3 Ms. Brescia: States the monument sign as
is they could have the WP without the tooth or
4 they could eliminate it all together and then
at each entrance to each individual location
5 they could put a plaque that would match for
each tenant that complies with the sign law.
6 Feels that will be more explanatory as to the
location of each tenant. States there will be
7 no lettering on the building itself.
8 Ms. Raffiani: States old lettering
should be removed from the building.
Ms. Uhle: Asks if forest green color is
11 Ms. Brescia: States yes.
12 Mr. Reischenberg: States the word
Ms. Raffiani: States that should be
15 Mr. Miller: Makes a motion to approve
Application 06-14 with the modifications
16 regarding no lettering on the building, the
monument sign is okay with the qualification
17 regarding the logo and put professional signs
on the entrances according to the sign law.
Ms. Brescia: Seconds motion.
21 APPLICATION 06-15, NB BARBER SHOP
Mr. Reischenberg: Dave Reischenberg,
23 Sign-o-rama. States they are proposing a wood
carved sign forest green with gold leaf
24 lettering. States sign is just like the

2 smaller than the Carvel sign.
3 Mr. Reischenberg: States yes. Explains
that's because the sign law changed.
Mr. Miller: Feels lining up the bottom
5 of the sign with the other sign would make
sense. Feels lettering looks tight on the
6 sign. Feels it would look better if they added
Ms. Brescia: Suggests pulling it out at
8 least a foot on each side.
9 Mr. Miller: Suggests matching the width
Ms. Uhle: Asks applicant to consider
11 making the sign the same height and same length
Mr. Miller: Feels that looks good.
Mr. Benjamin: Shows barber shop pole he
15 Ms. Uhle: Explains zoning code describes
barber shop poles as having a rotating core and
16 no internal illumination.
17 Mr. Benjamin: States it does light up.
18 Ms. Brescia: Feels barber pole fits with
the building. Indicates space where barber
20 Ms. Uhle: States barber pole should be
no lower than the mullion and other sign is the
21 same size as the Carvel sign.
22 Ms. Brescia: Makes a motion to approve
Application 06-15 as modified.
Ms. Raffiani: Seconds motion.
APPLICATION 06-17, CORNELL'S TRUE VALUE

Mr. Fix: Explains they are applying for
3 two signs, one over the front entrance and one
over Route 22. States the issue with those two
4 signs is the True Value signs the smallest it
comes is eighteen inch so the T and V letters
5 would be eighteen inches. States they are
asking to put a sign on Highland Avenue.
6 Explains it's smaller than the other sign but
it's not fifty percent smaller. Shows samples
8 Ms. Brescia: Discusses plastic letters.
Asks if they could use other lettering.
Mr. Fix: Explains True Value has only
10 one approved sign vendor. States he will still
have to use the True Value logo and since other
11 sign companies are not approved they will not
reimburse him on the co-op.
Ms. Raffiani: Asks if these signs are
13 the only signs the sign maker makes for True
Mr. Fix: Explains the other signs are
16 Ms. Brescia: Feels sign on White Plains
Road doesn't do them any good.
Mr. Fix: Discusses lighting. States
18 they're not proposing any down lights. States
in the future they might put a flood light that
20 Ms. Uhle: Asks if they have something
that identifies just their address.
