APPLICATION 07-62, 242 PARK AVENUE
18 Mr. Cotugno: John Cotugno, architect.
States application is for a garage addition on
19 the right side of the house. Shows location of
garage. States garage door will be natural
20 wood to match the front door of the house.
Shows photograph of house. Explains they plan
21 to match the two dormers on the garage with the
dormers on the house. Explains there will be a
22 bedroom on the second floor. Explains they
will be doing an imitation slate roof. Shows

20 APPLICATION 07-41, OMNIPOINT
Mr. Gaudioso: Robert Gaudioso. Explains
22 this is a wireless telecommunication facility
consisting of six small panel antennas on the
23 roof of the existing building at 24 Ray Place
together with equipment in the basement.
24 Explains they propose to shield the antennas in
a stealth enclosure on the roof top. States
25 enclosure is seven feet wide by seven feet long
by eight feet in height. States they did

additional visual renderings without the
2 stealth enclosure. Explains stealth enclosure
will be stucco painted the same color as the
3 building. States equipment in the basement is
not visible. Explains there is an existing
4 storage room in the basement and they propose
5 to put a fenced enclosure and put the equipment
cabinets within that. States the fire
6 department wants them to put a two hour fire
rated wall around the equipment which they have
7 no problem doing. Explains there are three
small cabinets the size of refrigerators that
8 are self-vented. States there is a small AC
unit on the roof that will not be seen from the

just a wall with no trimming on the top.

12 are trying to keep this simple, not make it an

2 APPLICATION 07-48, 60 ANDERSON AVENUE
Mr. Escalates: Emilio Escalates (Ph.),
4 Escalates Associates, architects and engineers.
Explains they're proposing an addition to the
5 rear of a very small house at the corner of a
Alida and Anderson. States addition will not
be any higher than the ridges of the existing
7 house and houses in the immediate vicinity.
States one of the problems in this house is the
8 garage was older and a separate garage
structure. States they tried to make the
9 garage part of the addition. Explains they
only have a gain of about three hundred square
10 feet of impervious surface because they are
removing the garage and now have a very usable
11 back yard. States house is set back far from
Alida Street. Indicates they are maintaining
12 the same materials of the existing house.
States they will have a darker tone on the
13 second story and a lighter tone on the original

17 Mr. Escalates: States they chose to use
a brownish stone. Explains it's a five inch
18 thick stone veneer that is stacked
horizontally. States they will have a half
19 inch reveal with a tight joint.
20 Mr. Papale: Asks what type of material
Mr. Escalates: States wrought iron.
22 Indicates they will be planting along the edge
of the stone. States he will submit drawings
23 specifying the species of planting that will be

Mr. Escalates: States yes.
Ms. Bonasia: Feels it is a complicated
3 addition. Feels they did a good job with the
materials. Feels left side elevation makes it
4 looks like two elements. States she doesn't
see a connection. Feels entry is more of a
Mr. Escalates: Explains that side is
7 invisible to everyone. States that side was
sacrificed for the sake of the floor plan and
8 the wishes of the applicant. Explains the
square footage is an issue.
Mr. McIntyre: Asks if they have done
10 their due diligence in terms of what their
position is and what the post office's position
11 is regarding the address.
12 Mr. Escalates: Doesn't know what the
consequences of this change would signify in
13 terms of the post office.
14 Ms. Uhle: Explains there is nothing that
prohibits them from having an entrance on the
15 side yard. States for zoning compliance
purposes this is still considered the side yard
16 and the front yard is on Anderson. Explains
with regard to what the address is that's up to
18 Mr. McIntyre: Asks if the front yard has
Ms. Uhle: States no. Explains for
20 zoning compliance the front yard has to have a
thirty foot setback and twenty-five foot for a
22 Mr. McIntyre: Asks what the variances
Ms. Uhle: Explains they're preexisting
24 non-conforming with the side yard setback and
with the addition they're improving upon that.
25 States they are required to be fourteen feet to
the property line and they're eleven point

seven and that's because they're continuing
2 along the existing setback. The other variance
is the porch is permitted to extend within six
3 feet of the property line and they're slightly
closer to the property line. States those
4 variances were granted by the Zoning Board.
Explains those variances were primarily because
5 of the existing conditions of the site.
6 Mr. Escalates: Discusses roof. Explains
existing roof is fairly new. States they will
7 match the existing shingle but if they can't
they will replace everything and it will be a

12 tremendous amount of information with regard to
the finishes. Asks what the siding is.
Mr. Escalates: States it is cedar siding

board's primary responsibilities is to review
16 and comment on the materials.
17 Mr. Escalates: Explains it's all
horizontal wood siding, wood trim, Anderson
18 four hundred series windows, asphalt shingle
